Make the Most of Your Small Space with These Tips & MA Home Insurance
For some of us it just makes more sense to be in a small space, whether it is because of our wallet, our family, or our location preferences. Living in a small space has its upsides, but also can sometimes make you feel cramped or confined. If you’re one of the many people living in a smaller space there are ways to keep you organized and keep your space feeling a little bigger! MSN Living shared some great tips on how to make the most of your small space.
- Let some light in. If you have curtain rods that extend beyond the window more light enters your space and the window will also seem larger.
- Center the room. While moving your furniture you may be drawn to put all of it against the walls, but creating a more comfortable space makes it more inviting. Putting your furniture closer together and more centered makes the sitting area more inviting and the area around it seem larger.
- Take items off the floor. It is important you don’t cover all of the space in your homes. This means it will appear larger with more counter space, more open wall space, and most importantly more floor space.
- Use pieces that can multitask. If furniture is going to take up valuable space make sure you can put it to work and serves a purpose. With smaller spaces, you don’t have the luxury of filling a room with furniture that just looks nice. Shelves and other storage pieces can help you organize and maximize your space.
- Create reflections. Utilize mirrors as illusions of more space and if you have low ceilings hanging pictures high can draw the eye up instead of making the room feel as short as it is.
