This is a tradition he started years ago when he was unable to find a good slice of pizza in Mississippi. However, returning with 150 frozen, vacuum-sealed pies was a record, costing $1,200. He made the 16-state trek in 24 hours, snacking on Town Spa pizzas, which he kept on the passenger seat.

Restaurant manager Kerry Hughes says that he ships pizzas as far as California and Florida. However, Schuler is his best and most loyal out-of-state customer.
