Better New Years Resolutions for a Better You
You have under a week now to come up with this years’ New Years resolution. Let me guess you want to lose weight, start exercising, or kick that bad habit? It is definitely that time again, everyone is discussing their New Year’s resolution and wanting to know yours. Why not surprise yourself, and others, this year with a resolution that is a little less on the conventional side.
Spend less time daily worrying. It sounds so cliché, but ask yourself: “Will
this really matter in a year? What about a couple months or even days?” If you
do this you may find most things aren’t worth worrying about.
Read a book a month that’s out of your comfort zone. Sure Fifty Shades of Grey may have been your favorite book of 2012, but why not expand your variety a little?
Use your vacation time. That vacation time is there so that you can relax and take time for yourself. Don’t feel like you shouldn’t take it just because you don’t have a big trip planned!
Do one thing a week just because you want to. Sometimes it’s easier to take care of everyone around us than ourselves. Doing things like getting a manicure or seeing a movie could mean a happier you and a happier you is better for everyone!
Learn something new every day. Even something as simple as learning the Merriam-Webster Word of the Day could have you just a little smarter with each passing day. Donnybrook means a brawl or usually public quarrel. You’re welcome for the head start!
Try new things. You just never know what you’re missing out on. Trying new things is a great way to cross things off your bucket list and meet new people…talk about killing two birds with one stone!
Laugh more. When was the last time you laughed so hard you cried? This one needs no explanation, but I will say it can also count as an ab work-out for those of you still wanting to “exercise more” this year.
It’s important to always be thinking of better ways to improve your life, even after the ball drops in Times Square. If 2012 drilled anything into our brains, it’s that “You only live once”, who could forget YOLO? With that in mind, another thing to put on your to-do list this year is to get a great Connecticut Life Insurance policy. It’s not something we like to think about, but it’s one of the most important things you can do for your loved ones. Call your agent today, check up on your Connecticut home and auto insurance policy for the New Year and ask about life insurance!
