We are so lucky to live in New England. Nothing says first day of spring like fresh snow on the ground and scraping ice off your car windows, right? The first day of spring is called Vernal Equinox. Have you ever heard the term vernal equinox and wondered what it meant? Well, I am always looking for answers for you and this is my latest fun fact. Have you ever heard the old folklore that on the vernal equinox you can stand a raw egg on its end and it will stand up straight? Test it out with the kids today and see what you find. It’s a great time to teach them a little science and have some fun. If the egg does stand up, test it again in a couple of weeks and see if you get different results.
One fact we all know about spring is the old saying “April showers bring May flowers”. Are you prepared for those April showers?
