With all of the snow Boston has experienced, it has been difficult to get out of the house. Even if you are a snow bunny, the weather has not been kind. If you are looking for a good excuse to head outside, bundle up the family and check out these local events found by our staff!

 

Lexington Music from the Movies (February 14th)

This special concert features numerous Academy Award-winning and nominated film scores, including Jaws, Superman, Schindler’s List, The Pink Panther, and Pirates of the Caribbean. Special guest composer Brady Hearn, graduate of Lexington High School, will talk about how a film score is created. There is also a free children’s concert beforehand, featuring music from the childhood classic Peter and the Wolf.

Topsfield February Flapjack Fling (February 21st)

Kick off the beginning of the maple sugaring season! Bring family and friends to this special breakfast and enjoy some delicious pancakes. Take a tour before or after breakfast and learn how sap can transform into syrup.

Wenham Museum’s 8th Annual Legopalooza Pop-up Lego Studio (February 16th– 18th)

Bring the kids for family Lego building time! Dig into buckets of Legos and build anything you can imagine. Watch the rainbow colored Lego Train race along a track and get you model train fix in! A great event for kids of all ages, and a great excuse for family bonding.

15th Annual Lowell Winterfest (February 20th-21st)

Enjoy live entertainment and activities for children, there is something for everyone! This year the New England Music Awards will bring you some of the best local music around.  View a breathtaking fireworks display and local cuisine from famous local eateries.

Lincoln Sculpture Park Snowshoe Tour (February 20th– 21st)

Take a guided tour of the Sculpture Park after a snowshoe lesson from a trained Eastern Mountain Sports instructor.  Learn a great sport while taking in a beautiful scenic view- great for the whole family!
