Free Duplicate ID’s for Tornado Victims
When a catastrophic act of Mother Nature, like a tornado, hits you where it hurts, your loved ones and your home, it can be difficult to figure out where you need to begin picking up all of the pieces. There are the larger pieces – making sure the people and pets that your care about are okay, figuring out where you can get food and stay safe and evaluating the structure of your home to see where it needs immediate repair –the smaller pieces (physically, anyway) – locating toys, jewelry, and the contents of your wallet – and everything in between. And when you have just survived a crisis like the victims in Western Massachusetts have, at the beginning of the summer, any help that you receive is greatly appreciated.
But, you may not realize how difficult it might be to try to sifting through the wreckage to start putting everything back together without your Driver’s License or State-Issued ID. In an effort to help some of the people affected by the tornados in Western Massachusetts the Patrick-Murray Administration will be offering free duplicate licenses and IDs at RMV locations. This means that as a resident in one of the affected communities, the $25 fee will be waived if your license or MA ID was lost so that you can get going on restoring things to their former state, or starting fresh if you have to.
While nothing, not even Massachusetts Home Insurance, can magically erase the past – it’s very important to have on your side when a crisis strikes. Since you can never be too prepared, talking to your Massachusetts Insurance agent is a great place to start – in addition to taking advantage of getting your free duplicate license or ID at your nearest RMV that was lost during all of the commotion.
