LinkedIn to Grow Your Small Business

LinkedIn Tips Business

A little while ago I wrote a blog about the benefits of LinkedIn Groups for your business. While LinkedIn Groups are great, there’s even more you can do on LinkedIn, especially for your small business. LinkedIn always strikes me as the social media venue that should make the most sense for businesses, but sometimes businesses manage to forget about it. However, there are some small businesses and start-ups taking advantage of all that LinkedIn has to offer. Check out recommendations from Guy Kawasaki on some of the ways small businesses can use LinkedIn:

  • Acquire new customers through online recommendations and word of mouth.
  • Keep in touch with people who care most about your business.
  • Find the right vendors to outsource services you’re not an expert on.
  • Build your industry network—online and in person.
  • Win new business by answering questions in your area of expertise.
  • Raise funding.
  • Network with peers in your industry for repeat business referrals.
  • Convince potential customers of your expertise by sharing unique blog content.
  • Keep your friends close and your competition closer.

I have to admit that some of these are things that I’ve never thought of for small businesses on LinkedIn. While it depends on what exactly your business is and your goals for your business on LinkedIn, there’s sure to be a couple you can use to your advantage! Which of these ways to use LinkedIn surprised you most? What are some ways that you use LinkedIn for your business that aren’t on the list? Let us know in our comments section!
