My Car Got Hit In A Parking Lot; Am I Covered?
If you’re like me, then you still have all of your holiday shopping to finish. I’m going to be venturing out to the mall this weekend and, hopefully, I will be able to get most of it done in one fell swoop. But I have to admit something: I hate parking in that parking lot or that parking garage. I am that crazy person that purposefully parks as far away from the entrance as possible to avoid others cars and getting hit. But it seems that it doesn’t matter how far away I park, my car still gets surrounded by cars. It makes me nervous to think that while I’m in stores dreaming of bringing joy to loved ones, my Jetta gets the beating of its life from a distracted and/or disgruntled holiday shopper.
You want to know the good news? Typically, hit-and-runs are covered by CT Auto Insurance policy under my Collision coverage. If my little white Jetta gets hit by an unknown motorist and there is damage done, my Car Insurance policy most likely protects me from loss (though subject to my deductible).
So shop happy and at ease, people, but only if you’ve reviewed your current Connecticut Car Insurance policy with your Encharter Insurance agent to make sure you’re protected from crazed mall shoppers this holiday season!
