No More Excuses, You CAN Blog!

Small Business Social Media

It’s no secret that here at Encharter we love to blog. I think it’s a great way to use our expertise to help answer peoples’ questions and turn sometimes boring topics into something worth reading. Have you been considering blogging for your business, but don’t think you can? Well, consider this blog your pep-talk because I think you (yes, you) can be a great business blogger! Hubspot takes it one step further and even thinks you can be a “kick-butt” blogger, here are some reasons why you can blog. No more excuses!

You are an expert on your subject matter. Let’s face it you have a job because you are good at what you do so chances are if you write about what you do, the content will be informative. Maybe what you do everyday doesn’t seem like expertise to you, but it could prove very informative to others in your field. Share your knowledge with the world; you never know who you’ll be helping out!

You’re a good researcher. Think if you have to Google for some help that you should stop writing? Think again, we all get by with a little help from the internet these days. Hey, if you’re not sure of the answer it may be a good indication others would also like to know the answer, and you might even learn something!

You don’t have to write that much, or sometimes at all. Don’t go into blogging thinking you have to write a post a certain length. Most people would prefer to read a brief post, especially because most people are just scanning your content. Write enough to be informative, but don’t force more words into a post because you feel obligated. Sometimes you can use photos or videos and actually include very little words. What’s your excuse now “bad writers”?

There are proofreaders, editors, and freelance writers in the world. If you really don’t have the time to blog or don’t trust your own editing skills, there are people out there willing to help. Figure out what your strong suits are or just how much time you could dedicate to blogging, then decide where you need help or if you do at all!

I hope this gives you that extra push and a little inspiration to start blogging. Have even more great blogging tips? Share them with us!
