Now that Memorial Day has passed, you may already be brainstorming ways to entertain the kids this summer. Sure local parks and museums can be fun day trips, but what about a sleep away camp? It can give your kids the opportunity to meet new friends and have lots of fun. We are fortunate enough in the Massachusetts area, to have lots of great kids’ camps, but choosing the right one can be difficult. These camps are known for helping your child become more self-confident, independent and respectful. They also have a smaller ratio of counselors to kids, insuring your kids will be getting the attention they need to help them have a better time and more importantly, watch over them to keep them safe! Here are some of Boston’s Best Sleep Away Summer Camps from CBS local:
Camp Wingate Kirkland is located in Yarmouth Port and is a co-ed camp situated right on a pond. Kids get to choose what they do daily and with options like whale watching, deep sea fishing, arts & crafts, and horseback riding, they really can’t go wrong.
Camp Marist is situated on 300 acres of land in the White Mountains on Ossipee Lake in Effingham, New Hampshire. Aimed at teaching kids self-confidence and positive character traits, this co-ed camp is open to children from 6 to 16. Aside from exciting daily activities like go-carting and sailing, Camp Marist has special events like talent shows and an international night.
Camp Atwater in North Brookfield, Massachusetts is located on 75 acres on Lake Lashaway. They accept children ages 8 to 15, instill positive qualities, and aside from fun camp activities, also offer nutritious meals.
Once you choose the right camp for your son or daughter, the hard part comes. You have to pack up the car, drive them there, but worst of all, you have to say goodbye. As a parent, your head will probably be filled with worry on your ride there, making your Massachusetts car insurance very important. Whether you’re distracted or others on the road are, you need to make sure you have the coverage you need if an accident should happen. Having a great auto insurance policy is the best way to give yourself peace of mind on the road, even if your mind is stressing about other things.

Rain or shine, you’re most likely looking forward to the long weekend. If you are going away this Memorial Day, I’m sure you are already dreading the journey to your vacation. Let me paint you a picture of how my trip will go: about four hours in a five passenger car with five people, a medium sized dog and way more luggage than we all need. Will your ride be similar? Hopefully traffic won’t be too bad this year, but it’s good to be prepared anyway. If you want to be prepared for your trip, here are 5 Tips for Your Memorial Day Weekend Travels. They may not solve all of your problems, but they can certainly help!
Consider driving overnight. We caution you to be extra careful because there may not be the safest, most alert drivers on the road overnight, but it is one day to avoid traffic.
Always have a spare tire. Think about how much longer your trip would take if you had to pull over, wait for someone to get to you in traffic, change your tire, then hit the road again. Be prepared and avoid a flat becoming a major detour for you.
Bring an Emergency Vehicle Kit. Having a set of jumper cables in your car can never hurt, even if the car is new and you’ve never had issues. It may also be helpful to have extra fluids and even a jug of water in the chance that your car overheats.
Check the Fluid Levels in Your Car. Whether you check it yourself or take it to a service center, it could save you a lot of trouble to know where you stand before you hit the road. Do you need your oil changed? What about washer fluid?
Watch out for other drivers! This is true for every time you get behind the wheel, but even more important for busy weekends. With more people on the road and everyone in a hurry to get where they’re going, you may encounter even more aggressive drivers than usual.
Do you know what else you should make sure to have before hitting the road? Massachusetts Car Insurance because even if we are prepared and are watching out for other drivers, we know how the roads can be. The best way to protect yourself against accidents on the busy roads this weekend is with a great car insurance policy. You can get your car insurance online, saving you valuable time you can now put towards planning your trip and packing your car now!
