When it comes to disaster and tragedy in the United States, we can usually count on our fellow citizens to band together to help. Hurricane Sandy is no exception to that and it isn’t just great friends and families that are bonding together; NBC is scheduled to host a Telethon for Hurricane Sandy Relief Effort on Friday. The one-hour telethon will include concerts from Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, Christina Aguilera, Sting and Jon Bon Jovi. It will air from 8-9pm and be shown on NBC, Bravo, CNBC, E!, USA,Style, Syfy, and MSNBC. All of the money collected from the telethon will be donated to the American Red Cross. NBC’s last telethon for Hurricane Katrina raised $50 million for the Red Cross; hopefully America will come together again for a great cause!

NBC has also given other networks the ability to air the telethon—the more viewers, the more money for Hurricane Sandy victims! If you want to help the victims before Friday, you can also text the words “Red Cross” to 90999 for a $10 donation. You can also schedule a time to give blood to the Red Cross to make up for all of the lost blood donations occurring in the areas suffering from Hurricane Sandy.  With so many ways available, how will you help the victims of Hurricane Sandy?
