Twitter just made a move that many brands will be very pleased with. They announced
yesterday their newest feature for businesses, the Lead Generation Card. This gives businesses a way for users to sign up for promotions or memberships. This allows you obtain a username and email from Twitter followers that could potentially turn into sales, making it easier for followers to express interest in your products. Your Twitter followers that may not make their way to your site to fill out a form or get more information can now do it right on the site. As marketers, we are all very aware that the easier things are for people to do, the more likely they are to do them. If they are already following your brand, it would appear there is some interest there, why not capitalize on that curiosity and turn them into a lead?

Twitter Leads

When your users click to expand a tweet, they will see an option that allows them to sign up for something, that will already include their Twitter handle and email. While this feature is not yet available to businesses globally, it’s something to think about for your brand. How would you make the most of this addition and how could you use it to increase sales?

I personally love how Twitter continues to add features that make the lives of every day users and businesses easier. It’s clear they see the value in both and want to improve the overall experience for both sides. It seems to me that Twitter just “gets it”. As someone who uses Twitter personally and professionally, I always look forward to seeing what new changes they will come up with next.
