Tips for Successful Blogging
Do you want to create a connection with your customers, but are unsure of how? Blogging for your business can be quite difficult if you are unsure of where to start. Fortunately, we have found some tips to expand your literary prowess when it comes to becoming a better blogger:
Writer – While a knack for writing is useful, you do not have to be the next Ernest Hemingway to become a great blogger. A key to blogging is writing in a conversational tone that develops a relationship with the reader. This can mean asking questions, using common jargon, and being interactive with your writing. Since the line between bloggers and audience is ever-so-thin and only getting smaller, a certain sense of transparency is needed, such as admitting faults, lack of knowledge, etc.
Churning out Content – A common problem with blogging is cranking out weekly updates for the first month and then running dry when you use up all of your good ideas. A good way to come up with ideas is to never stop thinking. Holding onto a journal or a notebook is a common tactic to be sure that your great ideas don’t go drifting off.
Grabbing the Reader – No one wants to read news about past events. Staying current is what will make readers want to read your blog. For example, if you are blogging about an event that happened over a month ago and has no relevance then there is probably little purpose to write about it.
Be open with your audience – When someone comments or asks a question, feel free to respond. There is nothing more positively surprising then the author of a blog answering your question. Your reader will feel like you took time out of your day to respond to their interests and others will notice and comment for the same response.
