- A violin that survived the Titanic had switched hands a number of times, before finally being taken to get appraised. Its worth? Approximately $160,000.
- In the 1970s an electrician working at famous artist Francis Bacon noticed the artist throwing away notes and letters. He convinced him to let him keep one and over 30 years later it was sold for $1.5 million.
